What?

A walking tour(s) of the pre existing Atom and Luna audio tales, and to experiment with what these might be. To listen to the audio tours we will be using, please visit our website at funnelwicklimb.com

Here is what we know:

The work will be outdoors. It will involve no physical contact with the general public, the performer will be distanced at all times.

We think:

The audience (in small groups of up to 30, more likely 15) will be listening to the tale in a set of headphones. The performer will take the audience on a physical journey while they listen. Perhaps stopping them, encouraging them to start again, producing props and so on.

 The Character:

We suspect it will be loosely based on the main characters from The Mystery of the Raddlesham Mumps. They will be a quirky, slightly other-wordly, humanlike character who inhabits a site and relishes in revealing it’s, and their stories.

 We are looking for:

  • A charismatic, Colchester or close to Colchester based performer

  • High improvisation and devising skills Good with the public

  • Playful, imaginative, curious

  • Interested in work for families and young people

The Performances:

The performer will deliver 5 lots of 15-20 minute tours each day for 2 days (total 10 walking tours) plus 2 test tours

The Process:

 Rapid!

  • Initially online via Zoom working with director Scott Hurran (associate Director, Eastern Angles) and Project Creative Director Nina Hajiyianni (Artistic Director, Action Transport Theatre)

  • One day working in site with Scott in person on either 2nd or 4th August.  A further rehearsal day and then two test tours on 12th August
