What’s happening at Funnelwick Limb?
There is a lot happening in Funnelwick Limb land at the moment!
ON TOUR
Of course Atom and Luna is out on the road - find out all our tour dates here! We've just had the honour of being the first theatre company to perform at the award winning Sunspot in Jaywick.
Heres what Hana Loftus from the architect practice Hat Projects who conceived Sunspot had to say:-
"Special to take a team trip out to #Sunspot to see @funnelwicklimb's magical Atom and Luna. We always imagined and hoped that the covered market would host plays, music and all manner of events so it's great to see this happening more and more - a year almost to the day that the building was opened"
And Jessica Bryan of Tendring District Council who watched the show for local school Sir Martin Frobisher said
"AMAZING!!! Thank you for inviting me to watch Atom and Luna this afternoon – im thrilled that young people get to experience such high quality live theatre…I want my own hare, butterflies, bird and wolf!"
IN SCHOOL
Talking of young people at the same time as the show being out on tour Funnelwick Limb are also out and about in schools working on a project called Shape shifters- a project led by Wix and Wrabness Primary School and Anita Belli. We're working in six schools to create 24 brand new audio tales which will be writen and narrated by the young people themselves... and we're thrilled to be working with Esther Simpson of Whispered Tales on this.
We've already been in Wix and Wrabness, Bradfield and Spring Meadow Primary schools and we're heading to Mayflower. Kirby and St Clares soon. Already the first three schools have created some extraordinary characters using lego, sticks and the ever reliable pencil and paper!
NEW SHOW
And whilst we've been in schools we've been taking the opportunity to sound out the pupils about some ideas we have for our new (third) show. We'll be going into R&D at the end of the October - so watch this space to find out what we are cooking up!
